Utilizing quality aeration will turn your storage over multiple times per day to give you a better chance of maintaining healthy water.

Our system also allows for chemical injection to be applied directly through the pit-bottom diffusers to be able to place chemical treatment in specific areas and distribute or mix much more efficiently. This reduces overall chemical needs and provides a much more effective treatment.

When storage remediation is needed, what is the best method to apply chemical?

The best current method is by pumping chemical directly through our pit-bottom diffusers to better place chemical to specific or troublesome spots in your pit to allow for a more efficient treatment and to minimize overall treatment costs.

Many competitors will just dump the entire estimated chemical load into one side of the pit or try and circulate the pit with expensive pumps and transfer lines while injecting chemistry. These methods are much more expensive and far less successful than Flowpoint’s method.

How can I get more consistent water quality for my frac to eliminate potential upsets and downtime?

Over time large volumes of stored water in a pit will stratify or become layered with varying temperatures, salinity, suspended solids content, chemistry, etc. Utilizing Flowpoint’s quality robust aeration system will provide high amounts of pit turnover and proper mixing of the entire body of water to reduce the chances of stratification and inconsistent water.

Is there a way to condition or start treating my water for frac before hitting the last mile transfer system to have more control of water quality?

Flowpoint has a tremendous level of water treatment and overall oilfield experience for how to treat water for fracturing and downhole needs without upsetting your frac chemistry.

There are many advantages to treating as far upstream of your frac as possible to give yourself more options for prepping your frac fluid before hitting the last mile transfer system. Being able to properly treat your water before going into storage is the first step. Utilizing a proper aeration system and committing to a pit monitoring and in-storage treatment program is the second step. Your frac water can be properly treated to frac requirements while still being in storage. Once the water is sent to frac through last mile transfer, Flowpoint monitors and treats additionally if needed through our On-The-Fly (OTF) treatment systems. Our OTF systems are multiple chem injection units that can apply your bacterial control, scale control, corrosion inhibitor, surfactants, etc. in line before hitting the frac location. Better chemistry at proper dosages are imperative for well production and protection.
